Invest in your dreams

In February, I was invited to give the Creative Mornings Fargo talk around the topic Invest. What a fun challenge this theme was for me! I hope you’ll watch and see if you are investing in your dreams as specifically as I think you need to to actually achieve them. Bring on the G.O.T.E. sheets from my years as a theatre student. I’m telling you, those years at MSUM, studying theatre, are the gift that keeps on giving in my life.

This was an interesting talk. I enjoyed it. I do believe that we have to invest in ourselves. My whole life I had one dream but somehow life got in the way. One thing that keeps me alive and keeps me going is music. I have faced the reality that I can not do music at the level that I had once wanted to but I find other ways to use music to help fuel my passion. I now live in Nashville TN. I made the move from Fargo in 2014. Nashville taught me a lot about the music business which I love to study even though I am not in a school studying it. How one can learn from being in a environment is interesting to me. I have no idea why that business is interesting to me but it is. So as long as I can keep learning and being around the music keeps me going. I also provide music to residents at the Senior Living Facility I work at out of the goodness of my heart. Years ago I was a receptionist at a nursing home and was never allowed to share my dream with those residents so now it makes me happy to know I can do it for others. Are there ways to follow you on social media? Thank you for a wonderful talk. Hope I can hear more.

  Thanks for your great response. What a treat it must be for your current residents to have access to music. We know how important that is for everyone, but especially that population. And in light of how isolated everyone is today, providing access to the arts is more important than ever!
